A report from Den of Geek stated that the first season is “better served as the only season” due to Taylor Sheridan’s concluding arc.
Many fans were left wondering what would happen next, especially since Paramount had announced weeks earlier that new episodes had been ordered. As a result, similar news stories began speculating about what 1883’s second season would be like.
There is no confirmed lineup for the cast of 1883 Season 2. However, we can always predict the potential actors who might make the final cut for the sequel. You can expect the following to be a part of the upcoming season:
- Sam Elliot as Shea Brennan who leads the expedition.
- Tim Mcgraw as James Dutton who happens to be the (great) great grandfather of John Dutton.
- Faith Hill as Margaret Dutton
- Isabel May as Elsa Dutton
- LaMonica Garrett as Thomas
- Marc Rissmann as Josef
- Gratiela Brancusi as Noemi
- Audie Rick as John Dutton Sr.
- Eric Nelsen as Ennis
- James Landry Hebert as Wade
Other than these characters there will be additions of a few more! Most likely we’ll get to know about them once Sheridan decides to speak up about the cast members of the sequel.
Following the show’s finale, those making predictions were left scratching their heads. The possibility of a second season is impossible. After the finale, there was no way to fill the emotional voids left behind. Throughout the story, including the Duttons, everything had changed dramatically. Taylor Sheridan, Paramount’s golden boy and creative cowboy-god, announced that the 1883 chapter had closed not long after.
In the late 19th century, ancestors of Yellowstone’s Dutton family set out to build what would one day become their namesake Montana homestead, and the new movie 1883, starring Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Sam Elliott, and Isabel May, tells their story.
During their journey from Fort Worth, Texas, to the Great Plains, the Dutton family (played by McGraw and Hill, respectively) and their children, the disobedient Elsa (May) and the impressionable John (Audie Rick), endured hardships and deaths in pursuit of their American dream.
Couldn’t we use a full season of John (and his parents, of course) at the center, catching us up on the glimpses of James and Margaret that we’ve gotten in Yellowstone’s Yellowstone National Park?An account of the American Civil War
Although James and Margaret both served in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War, the scars of that conflict can still be seen today even though the conflict has lasted for many years.
“I think there’s a lot of PTSD going on with James, Margaret, Shea, Thomas—everyone who experienced that war and then all that went on at Reconstruction,” the series star Tim McGraw said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“He was shell-shocked all the time.” A season focusing on the characters’ war experiences in 1883 would certainly attract our attention, especially if it featured A-list guests like Tom Hanks, who appeared in Episode 2 as Union general George Meade following the Battle of Antietam.
