This five-door Suzuki Jimny, which had been tested and used in CGI for more than a year, is about to move past the world of testing and launching in a selection of markets that have yet to be decided. The situation could be resolved at some point, but until that time, let’s see another attempt at freeing it from vinyl stickers, which is a very realistic approach.
A set of digital illustrations made by Kelsonik for the folks at Kolesa depict the small SUV with the same size as its bigger competitors but with a larger space between the axles, two extra doors, and a smaller three-quarter window. There is no doubt that it retains the boxy and instantly recognizable styling of the three-door model throughout the entire show, giving an unofficial glimpse into the car that is about to be revealed.
2023 Suzuki Jimny Five-Door, Will it look like this ?
This five-door Suzuki Jimny, which offers improved legroom for rear bench passengers, improved egress and ingress, and likely a larger cargo area, should attract customers who are looking for a true off-roader that isn’t too pricey, has enough space for the entire family, and (maybe) packs a punchier engine.
In terms of the latter part, that can be viewed as pure speculation at this point, since the company based in the Land of the Rising Sun has not made any official remarks about it. In spite of these rumors, there is a possibility that instead of using the familiar naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine with a five-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission, the five-door Jimny could be offered with a turbocharged engine, maybe the 1.4-liter unit from the Swift Sport.
It should be noted, however, that since the three-door variant of the car has not been approved for a visa in the U.S., the five-door version will not be arriving either, which is unfortunate as both of these models are capable off-roaders that are very entertaining to drive, even on rough terrain. It is still a well-guarded secret when the five-door Jimny is actually unveiled, but if anything, it is likely that it is set to debut before the end of this year, with a possible launch a couple of months later. So it is likely that we will get a look at more scoops of prototypes that are testing in the open by the time we reach that point.
