2. Chipset
The Moto X Style is powered by 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 (MSM8992) processor and Adreno 418 GPU. Notably, several high-end smartphones have been launched with the 808 chipset, including the LG G4 and the LG V10.
On the other hand, Moto X Play is powered by 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and Adreno 405 GPU. In this case the Moto X Play looks a bit weak.

The Moto X Style packs 3GB of RAM, compared to the Moto X Play’s 2GB. The presence of more RAM will benefit the Moto X Style user in multitasking.
4. Camera
Despite both the Moto X Play and X Style having 21-megapixel rear cameras, the difference lies in the ability to record videos in 4K resolution. Moto X Style is equipped with this feature while full-HD (1080p) recording is possible with Moto X Play. Keeping in mind the camera enthusiasts, Motorola has also provided a front camera flash in the Moto X Style, so that better pictures can be taken in low light. Note that there is no front flash in the Moto X Play. Both handsets have 21 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera.
