Last month, the company had increased the minimum recharge of 28-day mobile service plan by about 57 per cent to Rs 155 in eight circles. Recently, Bharti Airtel Chairman, Sunil Bharti Mittal had said that the return on investment in the telecom business is very low and there could be a tariff hike this year.

Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, two big companies in the telecom sector, have set a target of converting 150 million mobile phone users to 5G by March next year. Both these companies are rapidly increasing their 5G coverage. Along with increasing the scope of their 5G service, these companies will also focus on improving their network. These companies can invest Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the next financial year.
