Airtel said in its released statement that this will benefit the migrant workers and daily wage earners who are getting affected due to the COVID-19 nationwide lockdown. Apart from this, Airtel also said that other Airtel customers are recharging their accounts through online platforms.
With the help of Rs 10 talk time released by Airtel, customers will be able to make important messages and phone calls to their near and dear ones during this lockdown due to Corona virus. However, this extended validity and additional talk-time offer is available only for ‘Low Income’ prepaid customers.
When Gadgets 360 sought clarity on the criteria for selecting low-income customers, Airtel confirmed that it is selecting on the basis of low Average Revenue Per User (ARPU). However, the company did not clarify how much ARPU it is looking at to give the benefit of the offer.
Vodafone Idea has also followed Airtel’s path and extended the validity of its feature phone customers’ numbers till April 17.
