Ather Reduces Price of 450X Electric Scooter by Rs 30000, Presents New Pro Variant with Features

Electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy has reduced the price of its 450X electric scooter. It will be available at a price of Rs 98,183 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Along with this, the company has discontinued the 450 Plus variant. Ather Energy has introduced a Pro Pack variant of this, in which all the features that were available earlier in the standard variant will be available.

Features like ride modes, touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity will not be available in Ather 450X. Its featured variant Pro Pack will have all these features. Its price will be Rs 1,28,443 (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, there will be no difference in the power and performance of both these electric scooters. This electric scooter from Ather Energy is getting tough competition from the S1 Pro of Ola Electric. Due to this, Ather has planned to increase the sales by reducing the price. Ather Energy has delivered one lakh electric scooters to customers. Apart from this, the company has installed 1,000 fast chargers. The company sold 12,147 units of the Ather 450 series in February. This is a growth of about 495 percent on a year-on-year basis.

The market share of the company has increased to about 15.5 percent. It opened six new experience centers in February. The number of its experience centers has increased to 108. It has its presence in 81 cities. Its Ather Grid is one of the fastest growing charging networks in the country. The company plans to increase this number to over 2,500 by the end of this year. One of the major reasons why the sales of electric vehicles have not increased much is the lack of charging stations. The company is also preparing to introduce new features in its electric scooters.

The company’s sales have increased significantly in the last year. Sales of electric vehicles are increasing rapidly in the country and electric two-wheelers have a major contribution in this. Sales of electric two-wheelers in the country may increase to 22 million units by 2030. Ather had achieved the milestone of selling 50,000 electric scooters last year. Recently the company announced some upgrades for its Ather 450 electric scooter series. These included the AtherStack 5.0 software, the company’s biggest software upgrade to date.
