Bajaj Auto told that these motorcycles will be produced at the company’s Chakan plant in Maharashtra. Bajaj Auto will run the dealership network of Triumph Motorcycles in the country. This network will be expanded from 15 cities to over 120 cities in the next two years. Bajaj Auto had tied-up with British motorcycle brand Triumph three years back. Bajaj Auto said that the new motorcycle will be the new entry-level motorcycle for Triumph’s global portfolio. Bajaj Auto said that customers will continue to get experience with global standards at Triumph’s existing dealerships.
Earlier this year, the joint venture between Bajaj Auto and Swiss sports bike brand KTM achieved the production milestone of one million KTM motorcycles. KTM motorcycles in the country are made at Bajaj Auto’s plant. There was a partnership between Bajaj Auto and KTM about 15 years ago. Under this, the production started with the KTM 200 Duke about 10 years back. Since then the Bajaj Auto plant has become a production hub for KTM for 125-373 cc bikes. A large number of these bikes are sold in India and they are also exported to many countries.
Last month, Bajaj Auto launched a new version of the Chetak electric scooter. New features have been given in it. Its range has been increased. The company says that it has also improved the supply chain to increase production. The price of the new Bajaj Chetak is Rs 1.52 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has not made any changes in the design of this electric scooter. It has been made available in three new colours, Matte Coarse Grey, Matte Caribbean Blue and Satin Black. It gets a large LCD digital console, premium two-toned seat and scooter colored rear view mirrors.
