After the latest update to the BHIM app, the one-time mandate feature has been added to the app. This feature will prove to be beneficial for the people because with the help of this feature you will be able to schedule your payments easily. For example, if you pay your house rent on the 15th of every month, you will be able to schedule the payment before the 15th. For the information of the people, let us tell you that at present the app only allows peer-to-peer UPI mandate. Let us now tell you how this feature works.
How to use UPI mandate feature on BHIM app
First open the BHIM app and enter your 4 digit password to login to the account. Right below Bill Pay on the home screen, you will see the option of UP Mandate (“UPI Mandate”). Here you will see four tabs like My Mandate, Create, Scan and Gift. In My Mandates you will see all the mandates that you have created. With the help of scan option, you can create a mandate by scanning the QR code of the receiver.
After clicking on the Create option, you will see here the recent UPI contacts to whom you have sent money. Out of these, you can select any contact or enter a new UPI ID. After this enter the amount and then click on the Next button shown below. After this it will ask you the frequency.
After entering the frequency, click on Proceed after writing the validity (start and end date), remark. After entering all the information, you will see the confirm button, the thing to note is that once again read all the information carefully before confirming.
How to send money as a gift with the help of BHIM app
You can also send money as a gift using the UPI mandate feature of the BHIM app. For this you have to click on the gift. After clicking on the gift, click on the name of the contact to whom you want to send money, if you want, you can also search by entering the UPI ID.

Then enter the amount and select the occasion (Birthday, Anniversary, Diwali etc.). After that select the expiry date, write the message and click on Create button. Read the entered information once again before confirming. After this you will be asked for a 4 digit PIN. Notably, the maximum transaction limit per mandate is Rs 20,000 and you can set a maximum mandate validity of 90 days.
