BYD e6 electric MPV launched with 520 km mileage in single charge, 130km top speed

China’s well-known car manufacturer Build Your Dreams (BYD) has launched its e6 electric MPV for private buyers in the Indian market. Let us tell you that at the end of last year, the E6 was introduced only as a commercial vehicle. Now it is also available for private customers. It has come in two variants named GL and GLX for the customers. The BYD e6 is currently the only electric MPV available to private buyers.

Talking about the price, the initial ex-showroom price of BYD e6 is Rs 29.15 lakh.

Power and Specifications

In terms of power and specifications, the car is powered by a 71.7 kWh lithium-ion battery that powers a single front-axle mounted electric motor. This generates maximum power of 95 PS and peak torque of 180 Nm. Talking about speed, the top speed of BYD E6 is up to 130 kmph.

Talking about the range, BYD claims that it can run up to 520 km in a single charge (as per WLTC testing cycle). Talking about charging, it supports DC fast charging, so that it can be charged up to 30 – 80 percent in 35 minutes and can be fully charged in 90 minutes. While the GLX trim variant comes with a 40 kW wall-mounted AC fast charger option that can fully charge it in 2 hours. While it takes 12 hours to charge with a standard 6.6kW AC charger.

In terms of features, the e6 gets LED DRLs, leather seats, 6 way adjustable driver and front passenger seats, in-built navigation as well as CN95 Air and Bluetooth. There is a 10.1-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment system with Wi-Fi connectivity for internet. Talking about braking system, the MPV also gets regenerative braking system. The MPV comes with a battery cell warranty of 8 years or 5 lakh kms.
