At the same time, the SD set-top box was earlier priced at Rs 1,599, which has now become Rs 1,499. Apart from d2h and Dish TV, Airtel Digital TV, Tata Sky, and Sun Direct are also big players in the DTH market. Airtel’s set-top box is the cheapest, its HD set-top box is available for Rs 1,399, while for SD connection you have to pay just Rs 1,100. Whereas, Tata Sky sells both its HD and SD set-top boxes for Rs 1,499. However, Sun Direct’s HD connection costs Rs 1,999, while its SD connection is available for Rs 1,799.
For new subscribers, d2h is offering one month free subscription to Gold HD Combo Pack for Rs 1,599, in which you will get 248 HD channels. Whereas, for SD connection, you will have to pay Rs 1,499, in which you will get one month free subscription with 229 channels.
Apart from all this, last month d2h revised its Network Capacity Fee (NCF). The change was made based on revised guidelines by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in January. In this change, d2h got three different slabs, in which the operator will have to give 200 SD channels to the customer on recharge of Rs 130 per month. SD channels from 201 to 220 will have to be given for Rs 150. Whereas, users who choose more than 220 channels will have to pay Rs 160 as NCF.
