Micromax’s Yu Televentures brand on Thursday finally forayed into the high-end segment with the launch of the Yu Utopia smartphone. this smartphone Available for pre-order booking at Rs.24,999 And its delivery will start from December 25.

You Utopia The design of the phone seems to be inspired by the other handsets of Yu Televentures to a great extent. The thinnest part of this metal body smartphone is 7.2mm. The U Utopia feels good in the hands and is also easy to grip.

The rear camera and dual-tone LED flash are housed in a raised circular ring. At first glance it reminds of the Nokia Lumia 1020. The fingerprint sensor is given below the camera. You will be able to see the speaker grille along with the brand’s logo at the bottom. The volume and power buttons are on the right and the SIM card slot is on the left. The headphone jack is on the top and the Micro-USB port is at the bottom.

Yu Utopia sports a 5.2-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) OGS screen. Its pixel density is 565 ppi. The sharpness and color saturation of the display are satisfactory. Text appears crisp when zoomed in. There is no problem in typing on it with one hand.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset has been used in Yu Utopia and 4 GB of RAM makes multitasking easy. We were able to easily use about 20 apps simultaneously and we did not face any problem. Games like Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5 ran smoothly on the smartphone. We have not been able to test its processor in detail, so it would be wrong to reach any decision. For that you have to wait for our review. The inbuilt storage of the handset is 32 GB, out of which 25 GB will be available for the user. This is not a problem, as there is also support for microSD card (up to 128 GB) in the handset.

The 21-megapixel rear camera comes with Sony Exmor RS IMX230 sensor, True-Tone dual-LED flash, 5P lens and optical image stabilization. However, in the limited time we spent with the handset, we found that the rear camera did not deliver the expected performance. Photos came out well in suitable lighting and sunlight. But the photo taken in low light was not satisfactory. The camera was repeatedly raising the ISO level to the maximum level, due to which its pictures were showing more grain than other handsets. The camera takes some time to take pictures in HDR mode. It has high brightness, due to which the effect on some pictures looks unnatural.

The front camera comes with an 8-megapixel sensor. It will prove to be effective for the casual user.

Yu Utopia will run on Cyanogen OS 12.1 which is based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The user also has the option to choose the stock Android UI. It can be activated while setting up the handset, or even later. It is easy to operate any function in both the modes.

The Utopia packs a 3000mAh battery that supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charging 2.0 technology. Yu says that the Utopia’s battery will charge from zero to 60 percent in just 30 minutes. In the review, we will also check its battery life.

Fingerprint sensor does not satisfy. To set up the fingerprint, we had to tap on it about 15 times. Despite this, many times there was a problem in unlocking the phone. We thought it more appropriate to use the old lock pattern. The sound was coming from the speaker present in the rear part. If you hold the handset in your hands while watching a video, the sound will be muffled.

Utopia comes with the company’s new app service, Around You. It can be used by users for ordering food, booking flights, booking hotels and taxis or for shopping. It can be accessed by swiping right on the home screen. The company’s effort is that instead of downloading separate apps for each task on the device, users can easily complete all the tasks from just one platform.

Yu Utopia is the most powerful handset the company has come up with till date. This handset impressed us a lot in some departments, but also disappointed in some. However, the metal unibody design, QHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 4 GB RAM can make this phone popular. In terms of specifications, it will compete directly with the OnePlus 2 and Moto X Style, while its price is less than these two handsets. Can you buy this handset? For that wait for our review.
