Despite the expansive skin, Android runs smoothly without any hiccups. With 1.6GB of RAM always available, multi-tasking and transition effects are easy. The phone does get a little hot while playing games and playing videos but never too hot to make it uncomfortable. Voice calls are also of decent quality but during long calls with the earpiece, the experience is not that good. VoLTE is one such feature that will work with Reliance Jio network as well.
With smooth video playback of 1080p, the Gionee S6 also allows for easy sharing of multimedia files. To boost the sound, you can enable DTS audio with the help of stock video player. Audio quality with the headset is good but the loudspeaker is not much better when watching movies apart from jobs.

The quality of the pictures did not look very good in low light. But overall the quality of the camera can be called good.
One can shoot in multiple modes with the camera including GIF, barcode reader and professional mode. The front camera takes good selfies indoors. We also found the quality of the recorded video to be good.

Equipped with 3150 mAh battery, we could watch videos for 12 hours and 3 minutes in Gionee S6, which can be called good. On normal use, we were able to run the phone for one and a half days without charging. Although Gionee does not make any claims about fast charging in the phone, but its battery is charged from 0 to 35 percent in about half an hour with the 10 watt charger of the phone.
The Gionee S6 is a smartly designed smartphone that is better than Oppo’s R7 Lite smartphone. It has double the onboard storage, and supports FM radio, VoLTE. But considering its price, it could have had a more powerful processor and better display. But Gionee seems to have priced it keeping in mind the design and build.
VoLTE is the most special feature of the phone, which you will not be able to use at the moment. But you will be able to take advantage of this feature when you launch VoLTE service through Reliance’s 4G network or other network.
Gionee S6 is a good phone that gives you great looks with better hardware. But it lacks some features like NFC and fingerprint sensor which could have made it more special.
