Before the end of the year, Honor is all set to introduce an upgrade to its popular Honor 6X. It is claimed that it will come with beautiful display, better cameras and powerful setup. The new Honor 7X is to be launched in the month of December. We spent some time with the handset before it was officially launched. How did we like the Honor 7X at first glance? Let’s tell.
The metal unibody strengthens the phone and the feel remains solid. Grip is also good due to the matte black finish. The button position is great. All the ports are on the bottom. Honor has given 3.5mm headphone socket in the phone which is a good thing. But it was disappointing to see no USB Type-C port in the phone. The 18: 9 aspect ratio dominates the entire front panel. It looks good, but the 5.93-inch screen doesn’t make it easy to reach every edge with one hand. Due to the full-HD + resolution, the display seems quite sharp. Colors are also punchy.
The back of the phone gives a glimpse of Honor 8 Pro. The antenna band has got a place at the top and bottom. Honor has given a fingerprint sensor on the back and it is easy to reach.
The new octa-core Kirin 659 chipset has been used in Honor 7X. It has 64 GB storage with 4 GB RAM. The phone runs on EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. Remember that Honor 6X is one of the first handsets to come with dual rear cameras in the price range of Rs 15,000. The company has adopted the same strategy in Honor 7X as well. But this time the primary sensor of the rear part has become 16 megapixels. The secondary camera is still 2 megapixels, which will work to measure the depth. The camera app has also changed a bit, we will tell you about it in detail in the review.
Honor 7X has been said to be launched at a very aggressive price. It is so clear that the company will keep the price of this phone such that it will be a direct challenge for Xiaomi Mi A1, Redmi Note 4 and Moto G5S Plus. The 64 GB variant of Honor 7X in China is 1,699 Chinese Yuan (about Rs 16,850). The price is expected to be around the same in India as well. Remember that Honor 6X was also launched at the same price. If seen, the Honor 7X is not a huge upgrade, so there will not be much difference in the price either. Honor is also known for its aggressive pricing. The company did the same with the Honor 8 Pro. Compared to OnePlus 5, the price of this phone was also less and the specifications were also more powerful.
We will be testing every feature and specification of the Honor 7X in the coming weeks. After that will come with a detailed review.
