How much power is there in Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro? at first sight…

Chinese company Xiaomi’s latest smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is about to enter the Indian market. If seen, it is an upgrade of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, about whose popularity no question arises. Xiaomi is now facing a strong challenge in the market from Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Motorola One Power and Honor 8X. The responsibility of answering these challenges will now rest on the shoulders of Redmi Note 6 Pro. The new phone seems to be inspired by the design of the Redmi Note 5 Pro and many of the specifications remain the same. But it has a 6.26-inch 19: 9 full-HD + display, that too with the notch.

The smartphone will be unveiled on November 22 in New Delhi. Its price will also be revealed on the same day. Redmi Note 6 Pro price of Redmi Note 5 Pro expected to be around. Let us know that the starting price of Redmi Note 5 Pro is Rs 13,999 and the expensive variant is Rs 15,999. However, considering the increase in the prices of Redmi phones in the recent past, the price of Redmi Note 6 Pro can be expected to be slightly higher. Before the launch, we got some time to spend with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro. How did we like this phone at first glance? Let’s know…

Redmi Note 6 Pro has the same display as Redmi Note 5 Pro, only the size is bigger and the display also has a notch. Its resolution is 1080×2280 pixels and the highest brightness is 500 nits. In the short time spent with the phone, we found that the display has excellent viewing angles. Color and contrast are also good. However, we did get complaints of backlight bleeding at the highest brightness level. The 2.5D curved edges keep the display glass and frame meeting very smooth.

Redmi Note 6 Pro has Snapdragon 636 processor

Apart from a few minor changes, the Redmi Note 6 Pro looks very similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The new model is 0.5 cm wider. The phone is a bit wide, but it gives a similar feel to the Redmi Note 5 Pro in the hands. There is no capacitive button in the phone. Instead, users can use the onscreen buttons. There is a dual camera setup on the back side. There is a fingerprint sensor on the rear itself. During use, we found that there was a slight lag in unlocking the phone.

On the right side of the Redmi Note 6 Pro are the lock / power button and volume button. At the same time, the hybrid dual SIM tray is on the left side. MicroSD card can be used in this tray with two nano SIM or one nano SIM. It is possible to use a microSD card up to 256 GB if needed. There are speaker grills on either side of the micro-USB port on the bottom, one of which houses the speaker in the grille itself. The 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone and IR emitter have got a place at the top.

Rear camera setup has become better. Still only 12 megapixel primary autofocus sensor and 5 megapixel secondary depth sensor will be available. But both of them are F / 1.9 aperture. In the limited time we spent with the Redmi Note 6 Pro, we found daylight shots to be crisp. We could not test the low light photography of this phone. Well, we suggest you wait for the review.

An important feature of this phone is the dual selfie camera setup. There is a 20-megapixel primary sensor on the front panel and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with it, which is given for portrait shots. Photos came out well in good lighting. The bokeh effect was very accurate.

Like the old handset, the Redmi Note 6 Pro also has a metal back and comes with a matte finish. That is, the phone slips in the hands. Due to the large body, it is not easy to hold it in the hands. If seen, Redmi Note 6 Pro with 182 grams is only 2 grams heavier than Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor has been used in Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro. We expected the company to use a more powerful processor, possibly the Snapdragon 660 processor. Xiaomi could also have used the MediaTek Helio P60 processor instead, as Xiaomi phones equipped with MediaTek chipsets are now sold in India too. However, on the basis of this processor, our decision on the performance of the phone will come in the review itself. There will be two variants of this phone – 64 GB storage with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage with 6 GB RAM. Performance was smooth. We never felt the lag during the time we spent with the 6GB RAM variant.

Redmi Note 6 Pro out of box runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. As of now, there is no information available about the Android 9.0 Pie update. The phone is based on MIUI, which means that you will get many useful features.

The AI Face Unlock feature worked well in the Redmi Note 6 Pro. The phone registered the face quickly. The handset also unlocked quickly. It’s not as accurate as 3D Face Unlock. Redmi Note 6 Pro has a 4,000 mAh battery. It supports 10W charging. It has battery saver mode.

What else is special in Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro. We will tell about this in detail in the review.
