Hyundai and Kia’s Moon Running Vehicles

A number of automobile companies are also joining these missions and are working on developing such vehicles that will be successful in these environments. The announcement of cooperation between Hyundai Motor (Hyundai) and Kia is part of a sequence of announcements in this sector.

There are 6 Korean research institutes with which both companies have signed joint research agreements.
Key Points :
  • An Exploration of the Moon is a Challenge.
  • Several more companies are being recruited to join the mission.
  • These missions also include automobile companies.

It has become a major topic of discussion for both government agencies and private companies in the space field as a part of their space programs.

The space agency ASRO is one of many that have launched their missions in the past few years, including NASA, the Chinese Space Agency, and ISRO.

As many more companies are trying to take part in the space exploration of the moon, it is a challenge they are trying to take on as well.

As part of the agreement, the two companies will work together to build vehicles which will be used to explore the surface of the Moon. Several joint research agreements have also been signed by both companies with six Korean research institutes in the field of science.

Furthermore, a Lunar Surface Mobility Advisory Group has been formed in order to provide guidance in the development of a solution for the surface of the Moon. After successfully launching its domestic rocket last month, South Korea recently announced that it would launch another in the near future.

In order to build a vehicle capable of working on the surface of the moon, you must overcome numerous challenges. On the moon, there are no limits to how extreme the wind and temperatures can be – no limits at all to how extreme they can be.

Apart from this, dust, which is a particle that consists of sharp and hard bits, is also a challenge that one has to face everyday. There is a high chance of collaboration between Hyundai and Kia beginning in August, when the advisory body, which is composed of Hyundai and Kia, will unveil the moon vehicle concept it has been working on.

There are a number of Hyundai and Kia employees who have helped create an internal advisory body to develop mobility solutions for the lunar surface, which will be led by key employees. In addition to collaborating on hardware and software, the two companies will also participate in joint projects.

A statement by Yong Wha Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D Planning and Coordination Center at Hyundai Motor and Kia, stated that “We have taken the first steps toward realizing our vision of robotics and the concept of metamobility which we are striving for.”

Furthermore, the US space agency is also working with automobile companies in regards to the missions to the Moon, which is an important development. Currently, there are two partnerships that are moving forward for developing NASA’s lunar vehicle.

In May of last year, GM and Lockheed Martin announced their first partnership that would see them working together. This partnership has been announced for the second time in November of last year as a result of a joint venture between Northrop Grumman, AVL, Intuitive Machines, Lunar Outpost and Michelin.

As part of NASA’s plans to send astronauts to the moon once again, it is planning to launch a lunar orbiter. This is evident in the Artemis mission that has become a hallmark of the program.

During the course of the next few years, the mission will be launched on board the Artemis II ship as well as the Artemis III mission that will ferry a crew around the South Pole of the Moon by 2025.

It is anticipated that NASA will have astronauts accompanying this mission stationed on the Moon for a week, so they will be able to explore the surrounding area around the landing site during their time there.

Besides the purpose of this mission, this base camp will also be used as a base camp for future missions to the Moon. There are a number of things that would require a high-capacity vehicle to handle all of this.
