This partnership has been announced for the second time in November of last year as a result of a joint venture between Northrop Grumman, AVL, Intuitive Machines, Lunar Outpost and Michelin.
As part of NASA’s plans to send astronauts to the moon once again, it is planning to launch a lunar orbiter. This is evident in the Artemis mission that has become a hallmark of the program.
During the course of the next few years, the mission will be launched on board the Artemis II ship as well as the Artemis III mission that will ferry a crew around the South Pole of the Moon by 2025.
It is anticipated that NASA will have astronauts accompanying this mission stationed on the Moon for a week, so they will be able to explore the surrounding area around the landing site during their time there.
