Intex has made great improvements in the build and finish department. With smooth, curved edges and Gorilla Glass protection on the front and back panels, Cloud Flash doesn’t look cheap anywhere. Due to the glass, the phone slips a little in the hands.
The handset has a 5-inch HD AMOLED display. It gives saturated color and viewing angles are also good. On the front panel you will get a 5 megapixel sensor. Navigation can be done with onscreen buttons. Notification LED is not present in the device.
Volume and power buttons are on the right. His response is good. The microSD card slot and micro-SIM tray are present on each side of the handset. The mono speaker is at the bottom and the headphone socket and charging port are on top. There is nothing on the rear panel except the 13-megapixel primary camera and flash.
Along with the phone, you will get a charger, data cable, headset, screen guard and manual. Not much can be said in praising the quality of the accessory, but it will definitely last if you keep it safe. Due to the glass back panel on the body of Cloud Flash, fingerprints fall easily on it.
Specifications and software
The hardware in Intex Cloud Flash is optimized to deliver an immersive Android experience. The handset’s inbuilt storage is 16 GB and it comes with octa-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset and 2 GB of RAM. The good thing is that the storage of the handset can be expanded up to 128 GB with an SD card. Other specifications include 4G support, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, FM radio, GPS and 2300mAh battery in both the SIM card slots.
Now let’s talk about software. You will get the experience of Stock Android Lollipop 5.1.1. Along with this, some gesture features are also present. You will also be able to adjust the display. Several motion and wake gestures have been given. SOS support is present in this handset which is not usually seen. With its help, you will be able to send your location to the emergency contact in case of any emergency. For this, both the volume buttons have to be held down for three seconds.
Cloud Flash is a capable handset. It handles multi-tasking with ease while in use. The interface is smooth and there is no problem in reading on the display in sunlight. Call quality is satisfactory and we have no complaints with network connectivity. Although we did not face the problem of overheating of the phone, but the phone does get a little hot while using the camera.
The octa-core processor gave good results in benchmarks. A loud sound comes from the speaker. This was possible due to software improvements in the settings menu. It cannot be called the best for music and cinema, but it does its job well during phone calls and messages. The phone plays full-HD videos smoothly.
The 13-megapixel rear camera takes good pictures of landscape and macros in broad daylight. The details came out good in the close up shot. However, distant subjects are not very sharp. The sensor gives good performance in terms of colors, especially in HDR mode. Performance is a bit weak in low light, as the camera app takes longer to save the photo.
Video recording quality is good. You can tap and focus during recording. You will find Panorama, Live Photos, Motion Tracking and Multi-angle View modes in the Camera app. Most modes work well, except for motion tracking. The front camera also works fine, but don’t expect great quality.
The 2300 mAh battery inside the handset lasted for 7 hours and 24 minutes in our video loop test. In normal use, the phone’s battery had to be charged once again before the end of the day. And it takes longer than the usual time to get fully charged.
Intex Cloud Flash doesn’t have any major drawbacks. This handset has the same flaws that we usually see in other devices in this price range. Apart from average battery life and mediocre camera performance, this smartphone does its part well. Intex’s decision regarding the design does not seem right, as this handset does not have any distinct identity.
We believe that the Lenovo K3 Note is still the better option in this price range. The reason for this is a better display and efficient software features.
