Iphone Maker Apple CEO Tim Cook Says, Can Not Wait To Return To India

At the end of his visit to India, Tim Cook, the chief of the American company Apple, which made the popular iPhone worldwide, said that he is waiting to return to the country soon. Cook’s visit coincided with the completion of 25 years of Apple’s presence in India. He inaugurated Apple’s first store in Mumbai on 18 April. After this, she was also present at the launch of the company’s second store in the capital’s Saket. Cook also had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Had a great week in India! Thank you to our teams across the country. I look forward to returning,” Cook tweeted about his visit to India. In the country, the company sells its products through exclusive Apple premium reseller Stars, large format retail chains like Reliance Digital and Croma, multi-brand retail stores and e-commerce sites. company has also opened its two stores in Mumbai and Delhi. Apple started manufacturing iPhone in India in 2017. Cook met Bharti Group founder and chairman Sunil Mittal on the last day of his visit. In this, Cook and Mittal agreed to increase mutual cooperation in their business in India and Africa.

In the last financial year, the export of mobile phones from the country has increased to $ 11.12 billion (about Rs 90,000 crore). Apple’s stake in this is about half. Samsung’s share in mobile phone exports was about 40 percent. The company has exported around Rs 36,000 crore in this segment. Assembling of iPhones in India is done by Apple’s three contract manufacturers – Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron. The company also plans to start assembling iPad and AirPod in the country.

India is an important market for Apple. The company’s sales have reached a high level in the country. Apart from this, the company has also made preparations to increase the production of iPhone in India. Apple launched its first online store in the world’s second largest smartphone market about three years ago. In February, Apple overtook Xiaomi to become the second largest smartphone company in Asia. Asia is very important for these companies as it has two big smartphone markets, India and China.
