us at the launch event Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus Got a chance to spend some time with it, here’s a look at how the phone looks at first glance and how it feels when taken in hand.

Sudhin Mathur, Director, Lenovo India Smartphones answered many questions related to the Vibe K5 Plus. According to him, after the acquisition of Motorola, the company is using the name ‘Vibe’ keeping in mind its branding strategy. Lenovo announced in January that the company would top feature smartphone While Moto will present the budget handset under the name Vibe.
The Vibe K5 Plus might be made of a plastic body but it gives a metallic look to it. The Vibe K5 Plus will be available in Champagne Gold, Platinum Silver and Grapeite Gray color variants. The unit we used was in Platinum Silver colour.
With a 5-inch screen, the Vibe K5 Plus fits snugly in the hand and lets you operate the phone comfortably with one hand. On the front of the phone, above the display are the camera, earpiece and sensor. There are capacitive buttons on the underside of the display. There is a big Lenovo logo on the beat of the rear panel while the camera is placed in the top right corner along with LED flash. Stereo speakers are also provided on the rear panel along with Dolby Atmos.
The physical power and volume buttons on the Vibe K5 Plus are on the right side while the charging and headphone sockets are on the top. There are no ports or buttons on the bottom and left sides.
The back of the phone can be separated from which the 2750 mAh battery given in the phone can also be separated. The phone has two micro-SIM slots and a microSD card slot for expandable storage. The phone not coming with a hybrid slot (choose between a second SIM or a microSD card) makes it even better.
The smartphone has a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm 616 processor and Adreno 405 GPU. RAM is 2 GB. The smartphone has 16 GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB with the help of microSD card. The Vibe K5 Plus enables seamless multitasking and switching apps. However, we can’t say anything about the Vibe K5 Plus until we review it in detail.
Support for 4G LTE band is present in the smartphone. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, Micro-USB 2.0, and FM radio.
Talking about the camera, the phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and F2.2 aperture. For selfie lovers, there is a 5 megapixel front camera with F2.2 aperture. In our short camera test, photos taken indoors with the Vibe K5 Plus looked fine. The front cameras can also take good pictures.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus smartphone sports a five-inch (1080x1920pixels) IPS LCD Full HD display with Vibe UI on top, which makes it look a bit like the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note. Many apps come pre-installed in the smartphone along with an app called Theme Center.
Like the Vibe K4 Note, the Vibe K5 Plus also comes with Theater Max VR technology. Customers will have to buy the VR headset separately.
Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus has been launched by the company at a price of Rs 8,499 in the below Rs 10,000 category. In this category, the phone will get tough competition from Coolpad Note 3, Meizu M2 Note (Rs 9,999) and Yu Yureka Plus (Rs 8,999) equipped with fingerprint sensor of Rs 8,999.
Vibe K5 Plus will be available for purchase exclusively on online shopping website Flipkart from 23rd March at 12 noon. No registration will be required for this sale. There will also be an exclusive exchange and upgrade offer for existing Lenovo A6000 and A6000 Plus users during the first sale.
