Battery, range and charging time
Starting with the new MG Comet EV, it gets a smaller battery pack with a capacity of 17.3 kWh. The company claims that once it is fully charged, the electric car can be driven up to 230 km. At the same time, Tata Tiago EV comes with two different battery pack options, which get MIDC certified range from 250 to 315 km.
Talking about charging, the MG Comet EV gets a 3.3 kW charger, which claims to fully charge the car in 7 hours. At the same time, Tata claims that both the battery pack options of Tiago EV take around 6.9 to 8.7 hours to charge 10-100%. However, the MG Comet EV does not have fast charging capability unlike the Tata Tiago EV.
Power
The Comet EV gets a rear mounted single electric motor, which generates maximum power of 42 PS and peak torque of 110 Nm. In contrast, the Tata Tiago EV gets a front-mounted electric motor. The Tiago produces 75 PS of maximum power and 114 Nm of peak torque output. According to the company’s claims, the long range version of the Tiago EV can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 5.7 seconds. MG has not disclosed this figure of Comet EV.
Dimensions
Unlike the Tiago EV, the MG Comet EV is smaller and comes with a 2-door design. However, it is the highest. The Tata Tiago EV, on the other hand, is longer and wider and also gets a longer wheelbase. The Comet EV gets a smaller boot, the capacity of which is yet to be revealed. The Tiago EV has a boot space of 240 litres.

The MG Comet EV is currently being sold at an introductory price of Rs 7.98 lakh to Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Offer valid for first 5,000 customers only. At the same time, the price of Tata Tiago EV currently starts at Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
