There are some differences between the two models. The Moto E4 Plus sports a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display while the Moto E4 sports a 5-inch HD screen. Due to the difference in size, the display of the Moto E4 looks crisper than the Plus variant. The most important feature of the Moto E4 Plus is the 5000 mAh battery, while in the smaller variant you get a 2800 mAh battery.
Talking about other specifications, the Moto E4 Plus has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. At the same time, Moto E4 has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. It is possible to expand the storage via microSD card in both the models. Both handsets out of the box run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. We didn’t notice any major drop in performance in the limited time we spent with the handset. However, only select apps were present in the unit placed on the display.
The Moto E4 Plus has a 13-megapixel rear camera while the Moto E4 comes with an 8-megapixel sensor on the rear. In both the handsets, 5 megapixel sensors have been given on the front. The pictures taken with the front camera of both the handsets looked good at first glance. At the same time, the performance of the rear camera will be called average.
The design of the Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus is noteworthy compared to the older phones of the Moto E generation. Both the phones have a metal body and the camera module has been given round the back. This camera module has now become the trademark design of the Moto lineup. In the hands, the Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus feel sturdy, but not overly premium. By the way, considering the price, most users can ignore this shortcoming.
The dimensions of the Moto E4 are 144.5x72x9.3mm and it weighs 150 grams. On the other hand, the Moto E4 Plus is longer and thicker due to the bigger battery and display. Its dimensions are 155×77.5×9.55mm and weighing 181 grams. However, there is no problem in using either of them in hand. Now let’s talk about the navigation feature of Moto One. Both the phones have a home button on the front panel which is also a fingerprint sensor. Using this, you will be able to use the Android interface with one hand. Although, this feature will come in handy in many situations, but it will not be easy for everyone to stick with it.
At this price, the Moto E4 will compete with the Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Yu Yureka Black. On the other hand, the Moto E4 Plus will face challenges like InFocus Turbo 5, Lenovo K6 Power and Asus Zenfone 3 Max.
