Motorola Edge 30 Pro price in India
Motorola Edge 30 Pro The price in India is Rs 49,999 and it comes only in 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. There is also no option to increase the storage. The company has introduced it in Cosmos Blue and Stardust White color options.
Motorola Edge 30 Pro design
Motorola Edge 30 Pro’s design is almost Edge 20 Pro Same as. I got its Cosmos Blue option for review, which I found quite premium. The phone has a large 6.7-inch display and a small camera hole has been given at the top. Thin bezels are found on the sides of the display. The back panel is made of glass with curved sides, making the phone comfortable to hold. The phone is quite big and weighs 196 grams, which is also felt when holding it in the hand. The frame of the phone is made of plastic which is not typical of a flagship phone.
The power and volume buttons of the smartphone are placed on the right side and according to me, they are set at a slight height. The left frame of the phone is kept blank. Since the fingerprint scanner is placed in the power button, I often had to pull my thumb up to unlock the phone. The company could have placed the power button at the bottom and the volume buttons could have been placed on the left side. Only the secondary microphone has been given in the top frame of the phone, while the SIM tray, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and loudspeaker have been given in the bottom.
The camera module in the rear panel is given in the top left corner. It doesn’t stand out much, but looks beautifully integrated into the rear panel. The phone does not appear to be raised even when placed on a flat surface. To protect the primary camera from scratches, Motorola has given a metal ring around it. The phone gets an IP52 rating, so it is dust proof and can survive minor splashes of water.
Motorola Edge 30 Pro specifications and software
Motorola Edge 30 Pro has a 6.7-inch FullHD Plus AMOLED display, which comes with HDR10+ certification and a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. The panel has good viewing angles, and the brightness was adequate when taken outdoors. The company has given DC dimming option in it, which helps in saving power by reducing the brightness. Protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is available in the front of the phone, which is a bit surprising, because the safety of Gorilla Glass 5 has been given in the back panel. The Edge 30 Pro comes with stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos.
The most special feature of the phone is its Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. This is the most powerful processor currently available in any Android phone. iqoo 9 pro And Samsung Galaxy S22 The same processor has been given in the series as well, but the cost of these smartphones is very high.

Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, 13 5G bands, NFC and six satellite navigation systems have been supported in Motorola Edge 30 Pro. Motorola claims that more 5G bands can also be activated through a software update. The Motorola Edge 30 Pro supports dual Nano SIMs and supports dual 5G and dual 4G VoLTE.
Edge 30 Pro has a 4,800mAh battery with 68W fast charging. Charger comes along in the box. It also supports wireless charging with 15W capacity. Apart from this, with the wireless power sharing capability of 5W, it can also charge other Qi supporting devices and accessories.
The phone runs on the company’s My UX skin based on Android 12. Android security patch of January 2022 was given in my unit. The company says that apart from Android 13, the phone will also get an update of Android 14. Along with this, Android security updates will also be available for three years. Motorola’s customizations don’t seem to be intrusive in the interface. With stock Android 12, the UI gets large toggle buttons and an indicator when the camera or microphone is in use. The shape, color and font style of the icons can be customized. But, you cannot change the accent color of the UI based wallpaper. I would have liked it if this feature was there. This feature is available in Realme 9 Pro + and Google Pixel running on Android 12.

The user interface of the phone is very easy to use. There is also support for Moto Gestures, through which you can perform many types of actions. These include some of Moto’s traditional gestures like double chop to toggle the flashlight and double crank to launch the camera. Many more actions can also be activated for this with the help of Moto app. I really liked its power-touch gesture. In this, a panel comes out on double tapping the power button, in which shortcuts to preset contacts and apps are found. Apart from some Google apps, I only found Facebook preloaded in it and that can also be removed.
Motorola Edge 30 Pro performance and battery life
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro is the first smartphone I used with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The processor is very fast and whenever I tried to do something in it, the activity loaded immediately. Scrolling was very smooth thanks to its 144Hz display. The AMOLED panel of the phone shows attractive colors and the contrast is also quite good. The experience of watching videos with the help of stereo speakers was also good. One thing I did notice is that the speakers are not well balanced. The side mounted fingerprint scanner felt a little out of reach, but was able to unlock the phone easily and accurately.
The phone scored very well on benchmark apps. Its score on AnTuTu was 9,41,189. The phone scored 1,194 in Geekbench 5’s single-core test and 3,542 in the multi-core test. In GFXBench’s Car Chase test, it was able to maintain 81 frames per second. Here I noticed that the phone was heating up due to the load on the processor. Due to this the battery was also draining quickly.

No lag was noticed while playing Call Of Duty: Mobile. The fun in the game is doubled due to the stereo speakers. However, after 20 minutes I found that the phone had become hot and the battery was also drained. Looking at its benchmark test and gaming experience, I can say that the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is a very powerful processor. But when there is load, its efficiency starts decreasing slightly.
For battery, the phone managed 13 hours and 38 minutes in our HD video loop test, which is a pretty average performance for its battery capacity. In normal use on full charge, I was able to run it for a day. But using the camera and gaming, I soon felt the need to charge it. With 68W fast charging, the phone was charged up to 78 percent in 30 minutes and fully charged in under an hour.
Motorola Edge 30 Pro cameras
The phone has three cameras with high resolution, of which the highest resolution is a 60-megapixel selfie camera. The rear has a 50-megapixel primary camera, which comes with optical image stabilization. Its aperture is f / 1.8. The secondary camera is a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, which has a field of view of 114 degrees. The third sensor is a 2 megapixel depth lens.

No changes have been made to the camera app. The same camera features are available in it which are also seen in Edge 20 Pro. With the help of Dual Capture, you can record video using two cameras. It also has an audio zoom feature, which zooms in on the subject and focuses more on its sound.
Details are good in photos taken during the day and this phone is very fast in terms of focus. The dynamic range of the photo is quite good. Primary camera and wide angle camera capture good colors, but there was a lack of details and barrel distortion was also seen.
Close shots taken from the phone’s camera were quite good and the texture was also well maintained. The phone used to indicate to switch to macro mode when the subject came too close. Since it uses a 50-megapixel camera for macro shots, the results were captured with a lot of detail. Edge detection was also good in portrait shots.

Low-light photos weren’t impressive and the phone was unable to capture details in dark areas of the frame. With Night Mode it was taking 3 seconds to capture a photo but the highlights were missed. Instead of night mode, I thought it better to take regular shots, because there was not much difference in details with night mode.
The photos taken with the selfie camera were quite good. Photos came out better during the day and in low light as well. Selfie portrait was also able to capture the phone in a better way. The results were better when shooting with extra light source in low light.

Videos can be shot up to 8K in Motorola Edge 30 Pro with the primary rear camera. But videos from the selfie camera can only be shot up to 4K. Footage shot at 1080p in daylight was over-sharpened, but 4K footage was decent. Video stabilization was good. Low-light footage was also decent, but there was a lot of grain when shooting in 4K.
Verdict
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro smartphone has come as a major upgrade to the Edge 20 Pro. It can also compete in the price segment higher than its price. The highlight of the phone is its processor. If we put aside the need for improvement in low-light conditions, then the camera performance will also be called good. Motorola has increased the competition by bringing this device at a price of Rs 49,999.
However, the Edge 30 Pro falls short of the title of the perfect smartphone. It is powerful, so it gets hot very quickly. There was no problem in normal use, but the phone gets hot while playing 3D games. If you do not have much trouble with this, then you will like this phone very much. But if you like to play a lot of games on the phone, then Asus ROG Phone 5s In this case, it becomes a better option with a slightly lower price.
