Nokia 3310 (2017) Review in Hindi, Nokia 3310 (2017) Review

HMD Global made the most of the headlines with the MWC 2017 bringing back the Nokia. But after 17 years, Nokia 3310, launched in a new avatar, won everyone’s heart by refreshing old memories. Today is the age of smartphones and apps, and feature phones may not see any advantage. Because the features that we have become accustomed to using today are not available in these feature phones. Today our world revolves around social and communication apps like Facebook and WhatsApp, but the Nokia 3310 (2017) T9 dates from the era when we had to remember the number buttons to type a sentence. Good or bad, but a lot has changed in the last 10 years. And we would be surprised if the Nokia 3310 manages to make its way among the smartphones.

If you are a nostalgia lover, then you might already find this phone attractive. So how much has the Nokia 3310 (2017) changed from before, or does it keep all the old phone memories alive? Let us know in the review.

nokia 3310 design and build
The first thing you will notice in the Nokia 3310 (2017) is its sleek body, especially if you look at the glossy red or yellow color variants. It is definitely eye catching, and you would want to show it to people just because of its looks. Compared to today’s smartphones, the palm-sized Nokia 3310 is extremely slim and weighs 80 grams as well. For those who are using a smartphone, it will seem very small in the beginning, but soon you will get used to using it.

The new Nokia phone is a new incarnation of the Nokia 3310, but its design is similar to the original phone. And the front of the phone is similar to the original Nokia 3310, with a white band all the way around the screen, though the screen is now bigger and more colourful. The body of the new phone is more curved than the original. But the Nokia 3310 (2017) has not been tried in any way to make it look like the old phone. The buttons look quite different and the phone has modern navigation buttons. On the rear, you will find a brand new camera and LED flash. Just below it is the Nokia logo. And there is a 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom of the phone.

Undoubtedly, one of the main reasons why the Nokia 3310 has stayed with us till date is its robustness. The new variant is also very strong and your heart beat will not increase even if it is dropped.

However, HMD Global claims that it is easier to read on the phone in sunlight. And there is little reflection on the 2.4-inch QVGA (240×320 pixels) display. And when there is more light, you will need to set the backlight level above average to read on the screen. The original Nokia 3310 didn’t have a color screen like the new one, but this feature was a must and makes the device easier to use.

You will get the updated Nokia ringtone in the new phone, which can put a smile on your face. However, when it comes to nostalgia, it ends here.

Nokia 3310 Specifications and Features
The UI of the phone is new, but many features are similar to the original phone and they are easy to understand. Menu You will find apps like Photos, Music Player, Opera Mobile Store, Calendar, Weather, Calculator, FM Radio, Voice Recorder. Apart from this, there is also a new version of the classic snake game. That’s all, there is something special in this feature phone. And if you are looking at it as an alternative to a smartphone, then you will be faced with the reality when you will have nothing to do after 5-10 minutes of using the phone.

The biggest highlight of the Nokia 3310 (2017) is the great old Snake game. Yes, the popular snake game is back but in a new way as expected. It is colorful and looks attractive but that doesn’t mean it will be fun to play. And as expected, with the new Snake game (with all modes) the memories of the old game are not fresh at all. We were not as satisfied playing the new game as the old one. Developer Gameloft has replaced the simple and fixed navigation of the old game with a more busy, modern look in the new version. In the process of making the game modern, the features of the old game have been lost somewhere. If you are excited to buy a phone in 3310 because of the snake game then you might be disappointed.

The Nokia 3310 (2017) has dual micro-SIM slots and supports microSD cards up to 32GB. The phone has 16 MB of internal storage, out of which 1.5 MB is available for the user to use. That’s why a microSD card will be needed to store pictures or songs.

The retail box includes a standard 3.5mm headset that can be used to listen to music and FM radio. Audio quality is fine. Call quality is excellent without the headset, but with the headset on the sound is clearer.

According to us, the D-pad for navigation is much better than the single-axis scroll button given in the original phone. You can quickly access apps like SMS, Calendar, Contacts and Flashlight. The T9 keyboard is just as good as the original, but with almost a decade of smartphone usage, it can make typing a bit tedious.

Nokia 3310 Performance, Camera and Battery Life
It may sound funny to talk about the performance of a feature phone, but after all, it is a mobile phone. And the pros and cons of feature phones can be talked about, even if their UI is made for limited functions. The new Nokia 3310 is not a problem to use and the pre-installed apps run smoothly.

The Nokia Series 30+ operating system is developed by MediaTek and is a great feature phone. Earlier this operating system has also been used for Nokia 150. Opera Mini browser comes pre-installed in the phone, in which Facebook, Twitter, Google, checking mail and many other websites can be surfed. But without Wi-Fi and 3G/4G connectivity, you’re probably going to be pulling your hair out by the time it takes to open a webpage. By going to the Apps & Games section, you can download versions of the Twitter and Facebook apps. But there is no support for WhatsApp and this is a big disadvantage for low budget customers. SMS app has to be used for messaging.

On the rear of the Nokia 3310 there is a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash. There is really nothing to praise when it comes to image quality. In sunlight, the camera gets good light and color pictures, but the focus is not very sharp. Photos taken in the dark, even when using the flash, come out bad. So it would not be a good idea to depend on this camera in any case. The pictures are fine for viewing on 2.4 inch screen but not worth sharing on social media. Apart from this, video recording can also be done, but the slightest movement takes away the focus, so to get better results you will have to record very slowly. Without a microSD card, you will only be able to store up to 7-10 photos in the phone. There are also sepia, black and white effects in the camera, which will come in handy to make the pictures more beautiful.

With the given 1200 mAh battery in the Nokia 3310, it is claimed to provide up to 22 hours of talk time and up to one month of standby time. During the time spent with the phone, even after playing games, making calls and listening to music for 2-3 hours for four days, more than 50 percent battery was left. This suggests that the battery will last around a week, however, this is not a new thing for feature phones. The Nokia 150 packs a 1020mAh battery and is claimed to have similar battery life. Its price is around Rs 2,000.

To be honest, the Nokia 3310 could be a secondary handset. Apart from this, it can also be used as a common phone at home. The phone also does not have many essential features like Wi-Fi, 3G / 4G connectivity and GPS.

our decision
It has been clear from the beginning that HMD Global is bringing back the nostalgic nostalgia for the Nokia 310 (2017). Classic Nokia ringtone, physical buttons, small body and sturdy build quality are the features that will make it feel like using the original Nokia 3310. And perhaps there are enough reasons for Nokia lovers to buy this phone. And this feature phone is as fast as the Galaxy S8 in the US just soldered out, The question is whether people are buying this phone for use or just as a collection and memory.

HMD Global told Gadgets 360 that the Nokia 3310 is receiving extremely good response in India. And the opening stock is sold out. This is a proof that people buy Nokia brand handsets because of their robustness, reliability and good looks.

The new Nokia 3310 has three things that make it better – looks, battery life and snake game. But at Rs 3,310, it is not the most affordable handset to come with these features. Rather, at this price, many options will be available for entry-level smartphones from companies like Karbonn or Micromax. And in a world where WhatsApp has become a necessity, the Nokia 3310 (2017) doesn’t have everything that buyers need.

HMD Global has made a lot of headlines by launching the old classic phone in the modern world. The Nokia 3310 (2017) feature phone is not the best choice for those seeking more functionality at a lower cost. But there are also many people who just want good voice quality, SMS functionality and a game or two, this is a good option for them.
