The company also launched several Android smartphones with it. Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 first glimpses have been received. And Nokia 6 was made available for the international market. All four phones will be launched in India as well. On the sidelines of Mobile World Congress, Gadgets 360 spoke to Ajay Mehta, Vice President, HMD Global, about the new phones and the company’s strategy around them.

“We are trying to launch the Android phone by the end of May and beginning of June,” he added. However, the new 3310 may be the first of these. He further added, “The date is on for the Nokia 3310. We would like to launch it before the smartphone. But nothing is finalized yet.”
Recently there were reports that the company will be a part of ‘Make in India’ program and the new Nokia will be made in India only. However, Mehta told Gadgets 360 that no final decision has been taken on this as of now.
Mehta said, “The plan is to make all the phones in India. And we are also working with Foxconn to make it happen. Will be brought. But the desire is for Made in India.
Ajay Mehta informed that Nokia will sell these phones online as well as offline. However, “he also said that some smartphones will be online exclusive and some will be offline exclusive. The same product will not be sold on both the platforms.”
He said, “We will choose all retail platforms through which customers can be reached. That is, our strategy is for every channel. Be it online or offline. And we will also try that the products are exclusive to one platform.”
