According to a report in Cartok, Ola Electric CEO and co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal reportedly confirmed to PTI that the company’s first electric car will cost between Rs 40-50 lakh. The report clarifies Agarwal as saying that “Ola’s product range will go from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 40-50 lakh. The company’s vision is to foray into medium size and small size premium electric cars that will be available in markets like India.” and fit for the users. The e-car will be the ‘fastest and sportiest’ in India. We have a clear roadmap in place to work in the car segment.”
During the virtual launch event of Ola S1 on August 15, Ola has announced that it will introduce its first electric car in 2024. It may come as one of the fastest cars in India. It is said to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in under 4 seconds. It will cover a distance of more than 500 km on a single charge. Apart from this, the EV will have a glass roof. It will work on the company’s MoveOS software. It will also get assisted driving capabilities and keyless and handleless doors. Ola Electric, which started making two-wheeler wheelers last year, launched the Ola S1 as the company’s second electric scooter in India last year.
The new Ola S1 will replace the Ola S1 Pro from 2021. Talking about the color options, it has been introduced in Coral Glam, Jet Black, Liquid Silver, Neo Mint and Porcelain White color options. It runs on MoveOS 2. The battery capacity of Ola S1 is 3KWh. Its top speed is 95 km per hour. It offers an ARAI range of 141 km and a claimed range of 101 km.
