oneplus 3t At the launch event, Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India, told Gadgets 360 that sales of the OnePlus 3 will continue, but will gradually focus on the OnePlus 3T. We spent some time with the OnePlus 3T at the launch event. How did we like this phone at first glance? Let me tell you.
Talking about the design, we had praised the OnePlus 3. This time the company has used anodized aluminum. At the same time, the sandstone rear, which has become the company’s identity from OnePlus One, has also been removed. The good thing is that the OnePlus 3T is similar to its old variant in terms of design and appearance. The new gunmetal color reminds us of HTC’s new metal body flagship. OnePlus 3T gives a feeling of strength. At 158 grams, the OnePlus 3T feels light. Its dimensions and weight have not been changed.
The OnePlus 3T sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with a pixel density of 401 ppi. The company has used an AMOLED panel on which the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 4 is present. The display is bright. Color reproduction is also satisfactory. Viewing angles are also good. And there is no problem in seeing on the mobile phone in the outside light.
OnePlus 3T runs on OxygenOS based on Android Marshmallow. This means that you will be able to enjoy Android’s updated app permissions system, now on tap and dose mode feature. At the event, the company said that OxygenOS has been further improved in OnePlus 3T. Due to the launch event, we could not test the user interface of the OnePlus 3T in detail. We will write about this in the review of the handset.
The most important part of the OnePlus 3T is the upgraded quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. Its two cores will give a maximum clock speed of 1.6 GHz and the remaining two cores of 2.3 GHz. It has an integrated Adreno 530 GPU for graphics. The phone has 6 GB RAM. To recall, the OnePlus 3 handset comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 829 chipset and Adreno 530 graphics. In the limited time we spent with the OnePlus 3T, we found it to be working very fast. There was no problem even during multitasking. However, it will be possible to get something about the performance in detail only during the review.
Another upgrade in the OnePlus 3T is in the front camera. The new smartphone packs a 16-megapixel front camera with a Samsung 3P8SP sensor. We took good selfies in the appropriate lighting at the event venue. The performance was good even in low light. The photo came with a lot of detail. Like the OnePlus 3, the OnePlus 3T has a 16-megapixel front camera. It has Sony IMX298 sensor, its 4K video recording is possible. At the event, the company claimed that the new OnePlus 3T comes with sapphire glass in the rear lens. We also took some pictures with the rear camera. Noise was low in indoor lighting. We will be able to tell more about it during the review.
The OnePlus 3T packs a 3400mAh battery, while the OnePlus 3 smartphone comes with a 3000mAh battery. After increasing the battery capacity, the OnePlus 3T is now able to take on the Google Pixel XL and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
The OnePlus 3T handset will be available in India from December 14. Like the old phone of OnePlus, it will be available on Amazon India. The 64 GB variant of OnePlus 3T is priced at Rs 29,999, while the 128 GB variant will be available for Rs 34,999.
The OnePlus 3T is the company’s most expensive phone in India and will compete with flagship handsets from other brands. Other smartphones coming with Snapdragon 821 processor in the Indian market are Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Google Pixel (and Pixel XL).
How will the OnePlus 3T get feedback from customers? Not much can be said about it yet. By the way, the changes the company has made to make it better, they will surely be liked by the customers.
