OnePlus 3T Review

Talk about the products made by OnePlus or the way they sell them, then OnePlus has always been doing something new. It is not surprising that the company has established itself in a market like India, where price matters a lot. Every year the company has introduced top specification products at almost half the price of other smartphones. And perhaps this is also the main reason behind earning the name of OnePlus.

To be honest, OnePlus 2 (review) there was nothing unique but oneplus 3 With this the company put an end to this disappointment. Our during the review We really liked this phone and in our opinion it comes first in our suggestion of phones under Rs 30,000. The decision of OnePlus to upgrade a successful smartphone that was just five months old was shocking. OnePlus 3T on sale for Rs 29,999 on Amazon has started. Specifications and features in old and new phones There isn’t much difference. and when we took the new phone in hand for the first time So it felt like an old phone. We already know that this phone is good, but should the new upgraded variant be given more attention than the previous phone when it comes to buying it? Let’s know.

oneplus 3t design and build
It is amazing to talk about the stage in which smartphone design has reached now and the OnePlus 3T is another great example of this. Its body is made of a single block of aluminum, giving this phone a feel like any flagship phone made by Samsung, HTC or Apple. The curved edges make the device comfortable to hold. The buttons on the phone are also easy to operate. An alert slider on the left lets you toggle silent and do-not-disturb modes, each of which is customizable. But because of this physical slider, DNAD can’t be scheduled to be on automatically, which we disliked a bit.

The display with 5.5-inch AMOLED display has the same full HD resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 as the OnePlus 3. Pixel density is high so that text and icons are clearly visible. And the colors of the pictures are also clearly visible. We noticed that the Neon Green color dark theme looks best on this type of panel. The color temperature is fine in the phone like the old variant but it can be fixed by going to the screen calibration setting.

The display in the 3T is brighter than ever and it can be seen when both the phones are placed together. Aside from color calibration, touch is one department that we found a bit odd. This makes it more frustrating while typing and the keyboard feels sticky on the side. The phone sometimes misidentified some swipe gestures, and at times we opened Google search while opening the notification shade. OnePlus has acknowledged the issue and is expected to fix the issue with the arrival of the Android Nougat update.

The fingerprint sensor makes fingerprint recognition faster and can even lock the app. It also has a capacitive home button. And it has two buttons on either side which are backlit. The functions of these buttons can be swapped and at your convenience, onscreen buttons can be enabled for navigation. At the bottom is the speaker. A Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone socket have been given at the bottom of the phone.

The beauty of the phone increases with the gunmetal color rear given in the phone. The camera is facing forward but there is no need to worry about scratches due to the sapphire crystal glass. In the box, you’ll find a 20 watt power adapter, a Type-C cable, a SIM-ejector, and an instruction manual. The packaging and quality of the accessory is excellent and we have no complaints about it. The dimensions of the OnePlus 3T are similar to the old OnePlus 3.

OnePlus 3T Specifications and Features
This phone has a better processor than the previous smartphone. Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 821 chipset has been given in OnePlus 3T. This increases the processing power, battery savings and user experience of the phone by up to 10 percent. This phone has 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128 GB inbuilt storage. The unit we are reviewing today is the premium variant and its price is Rs 34,999 but the 64 GB variant of OnePlus 3T costs Rs 29,999.

Talking about other specifications, features like Wi-Fi 802.11 AC, Bluetooth 4.2, USB OTG, NFC and GPS have been provided in this phone. The phone does not have FM. This phone supports 4G with VoLTE. OnePlus 3T runs on OxygenOS (3.5.3) which is based on Android Marshmallow based 6.0.1. These features are the same as the previous OnePlus 3 and have just been redesigned. ‘Shelf’ can be accessed by swiping right on the home screen. This is a customizable screen that creates visits for quick access. The notification shade and Google Search can be accessed by swiping up and down on the homescreen respectively.

Capacitive buttons can do three things. For their regular function, you have to long press and press twice. All key shortcuts can be played from the ‘Gestures’ menu. Talking about apps, the phone comes pre-installed with OnePlus Community app, Amazon, Kindle, Google Suite and basic apps like file manager and voice recorder.

oneplus 3t performance
The general app and system performance is certainly great, thanks to the 4GB of RAM. Apart from this, due to the storage given in the phone, you never have a problem of space. With the new Qualcomm processor, you can run anything without any hassle. Heavy games like Asphalt 8 work well. The phone never gets too hot even during severe usage which is very tempting.

The OnePlus 3T also scored excellent figures in the benchmarking test. Due to the great color reproduction of the display, watching videos on the phone is great. The speaker is quite loud and the audio is not very clear on the surrounding sounds. The display can be read easily even in sunlight and the wide viewing angle lens is also good. 4K videos also play smoothly in the phone. But we have a complaint about the speaker grille in the phone, which hides from the palm while playing games or watching videos.

The other major change in the new phone compared to the OnePlus 3 is the front camera. OnePlus 3T has Samsung’s 16-megapixel sensor, which is equipped with aperture F / 2.0 and fixed focus. Photos taken with the camera come with detailing in good light. And the quality of pictures is good even in low light. There is some noise in the pictures but there is no color noise so the pictures remain usable.

The OnePlus 3T sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, PDAF, and f/2.0 aperture, just like its predecessor. Landscape and macro photos come with detailing and color reproduction is also good. The Auto HDR mode works well and the phone will also get a HQ mode that reduces noise by aggregating multiple photos in the same frame.

We liked the photos taken with the camera in low light. The pictures are not too noisy and the detailing in them is also good. Shooting modes include slow-motion video, timelapse, manual, and panorama. Along with this, the camera can shoot video at 1080 pixels at 60 frames per second. Full HD and 4K video quality is also very good.

The third notable change in this phone is the 3400 mAh battery. In our HD video loop test, the phone’s battery lasted for 14 hours and 3 minutes, which is fine. During standard use, we could easily run the phone for one and a half days. Dash Charging technology works wonderfully and the phone gets charged up to 45 percent in just 35 minutes and the phone gets full charge in an hour.

our decision
Talking about the specification, there has not been a big change in OnePlus 3T and it is an upgraded variant of its previous smartphone OnePlus 3. The main features of the phone are a better battery, a higher resolution front camera and a faster CPU. The new firmware also plays an important role in the all-rounder performance of the new phone as compared to the previous smartphone.

Considering the current price of the phone, you can ignore the OnePlus 3 and buy the OnePlus 3T by spending an extra Rs.2,000. However, we think it would be a good idea to spend Rs 5,000 more for the premium variant of the OnePlus 3T. Don’t get our point wrong and this phone is good even for Rs 34,999 but it would have been better if the QuadHD display had been given in the phone.

It’s hard to spot any flaws in the OnePlus 3T and everything is as great as the old phone. And it proves to be much better than the OnePlus 3T. Camera performance is better in low light and we have no complaints about the lack of expandable storage in the phone. Talking about the shortage, some people may be disappointed due to the absence of FM radio. At the same time, problems with touch while typing can bother people, although OnePlus has promised to solve it during the Nougat update.

If your budget is limited and you want to enjoy the best Android phone, then OnePlus 3T is the only smartphone.
