After launching the Redmi 5A in India, Micromax has launched its new budget smartphone, the Bharat 5. The most important feature of the new Bharat 5 smartphone is the 5000 mAh battery provided in it. Apart from this, the phone has a 5.2 inch display. The phone is targeted at the entry-level smartphone customers. However, the phone is expected to face stiff competition as Xiaomi has built a great track record in the low-budget segment and the Redmi 5A is targeted to be sold in these markets only. Apart from this, there is also a slightly expensive Nokia 2 in this category, which is trying to make its place among customers due to its nostalgia.

Redmi 5A price in India is ₹5,999 for 2GB RAM/16GB storage variant. And the price of 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage will be available for Rs 6,999. The phone will be made available across the country on December 7 on Meedotcom and Flipkart. The company will also give a discount of Rs 1,000 to the first 50 lakh customers who buy the 2GB RAM variant. Additionally, Jio customers will get Rs 1,000 cashback in the form of recharge vouchers on purchasing the handset. After all these offers, the effective price of the 2 GB RAM variant of the Redmi 5A becomes Rs 3,999.

The price of Micromax Bharat 5 is Rs.5,555. Vodafone customers will get 10GB additional data on purchasing a 1GB recharge for five months, which means a total of 50GB free data. The buyers of the Nokia 2 will have to shell out Rs 6,999 and get a 12-month accidental damage insurance plan from Servify. Customers using Jio network will get 5 GB additional data for 9 months on recharge of Rs 309 or above, totaling 45 GB additional data. Micromax and Nokia handsets are available for purchase through offline channels only.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat and features a 5-inch HD display. The phone will get a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, 2 GB or 3 GB RAM options. The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The inbuilt storage can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). The device supports hybrid dual-sim.

In terms of connectivity, the Redmi 5A comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Infrared, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB port. The phone packs a 3000mAh battery which is claimed to deliver up to 8 days of standby time.

The dual-SIM Micromax Bharat 5 runs Android Nougat and features a 5.2-inch HD display. The phone has 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and 1 GB RAM. The smartphone has 5 megapixel front and rear sensor which comes with LED flash. Micromax has given 16 GB inbuilt storage in Bharat 5, which can be increased up to 64 GB via microSD card. For connectivity, the phone has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB port.

The most important feature of Bharat 5 is the 5000 mAh battery given in it, which Micromax has claimed to get 2 days of battery life. Whereas up to 3 weeks of standby time can be found.

The Nokia 2 competes with the 3GB RAM variant of the Redmi 5A. But it has only 1 GB RAM. However, Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global, says that despite the low system memory, the optimization will not cause any problem to the user.

Nokia 2 sports a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) LTPS display. The body of the handset is made of 6000 series aluminium. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and the back is made of polycarbonate. 1.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor has been used in this Nokia phone. RAM is 1 GB. Inbuilt storage is 8 GB and if needed, up to 128 GB microSD card can be used.

The smartphone has an 8 megapixel auto focus rear camera which is equipped with LED flash. Users will be able to take selfies with the 5 megapixel fixed focus front camera. As we told you earlier that the phone has a 4100 mAh battery. Handset out of box will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The company has also promised an update to Android Oreo.
