News18 quoted sources Claimed It is learned that the ban on Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has been decided to be lifted for three months after the temporary approval. However, the game will remain under government surveillance even after its release. A top-level official has told the publication that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) will soon issue an order to unblock the app from e-stores.
Not only this, the Competent Authority in the Ministry of Home Affairs has given conditional approval to unblock BGMI for analysis and re-evaluation. During this period, the authorities will monitor the app and check whether it still violates India’s rules or not. If any type of violation is repeated, the app will reportedly be blocked again.
An earlier report in the publication claimed that the government wanted Krafton to make some changes to BGMI before it was unbanned, including putting a limit on playing time and changing the color of blood from red to green.
If this happens, players will be unable to play BGMI for several hours in a row after the relaunch. The color of the blood could have been lavender or green even in the banned version. But now, there will not be an option to choose, as it can be set to green by default. Krafton had also made a similar change in PUBG Mobile in China after the government order.
The game was banned by the Government of India under Section 69A of the IT Act, which allows the government to block public access to content in the interest of national security and for several other reasons.
