Redmi 5 Plus is different from Xiaomi Redmi 5

Chinese company Xiaomi on Thursday launched its two new smartphones Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus in Beijing. The design and some specifications of both these smartphones are similar. But there is some important difference between these two phones from screen size to processor. The company recently launched its budget phone Redmi 5A. And looking at the company’s strategy, it is almost certain that both the new Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus will be launched in India soon. Let us know what are the important differences between these two devices of Redmi.

Display

First of all, there is a slight difference in the screen size of Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. Redmi 5 sports a 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) 18:9 display. The density of the screen is 282 ppi. Corning Gorilla Glass has been given for protection on the screen. Whereas Redmi 5 Plus has a 5.99 inch Full HD + (1080×2160 pixels) 18: 9 display. The density of the screen is 403 ppi.

Processor

The Redmi 5 is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor while the Redmi 5 Plus is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 processor.

RAM and Storage

Talking about RAM and inbuilt storage, Redmi 5 has 2 GB RAM and 3 GB RAM. Whereas 3 GB RAM and 4 GB storage options will be available in Redmi 5 Plus. Talking about storage, Xiaomi Redmi 5 will get the option of 16 GB or 32 GB storage. Apart from this, the storage can be increased via microSD card. The Redmi 5 Plus offers 32GB or 64GB of inbuilt storage and expandable support.

Battery

To give power to Redmi 5, there is a 3300 mAh battery while Redmi 5 Plus has a 4000 mAh battery. The dimensions of the Redmi 5 are 151.8×72.8×7.7mm and weighing 157 grams, while the Redmi 5 Plus weighs 158.5×75.45×8.05mm and weighs 180 grams.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus Price

The price of 2 GB RAM / 16 GB storage of Xiaomi Redmi 5 is 799 Chinese Yuan (about Rs 7,800), while the price of 3 GB RAM / 32 GB storage is 899 Chinese Yuan (about Rs 8,800). The 3 GB RAM / 32 GB storage of Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus will be available for 999 Chinese Yuan (about Rs 9,700) while the 4 GB RAM / 64 GB storage variant will be available for 1,299 Chinese Yuan (about Rs 12,700). Both handsets will go on sale in China from December 12 and registrations will start soon. Xiaomi says that a cover will be available in the box for free with these smartphones.
