Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 3,48,900 (ex-showroom). Apart from the standard, the company has launched a Solo Tourer Interstellar variant priced at Rs 3,63,900 (ex-showroom) and a Grand Tourer Celestial variant priced at Rs 3,78,900 (ex-showroom).
The new motorcycle is a conventional cruiser, with forward-set footpegs and a low and spread stance. The Super Meteor 650 is said to be the most modern Royal Enfield yet, as it uses 43 mm Showa inverted telescopic forks and is RE’s first 650cc motorcycle to come equipped with tripper navigation.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 includes LED headlamp and USB charging port. The bike draws power from a 648 cc parallel twin engine, which is capable of generating 47 hp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm at 5,650 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The motorcycle is built on a tubular steel frame. It gets 120mm of travel up front, which is a first for any Royal Enfield motorcycle. It gets 101mm travel for the twin shock absorbers at the rear. The motorcycle rides on a 19-inch wheel at the front and a 16-inch wheel at the rear.
As far as braking is concerned, the Super Meteor 650 gets a single 320mm disc with a two-piston caliper while the rear gets a 300mm disc. Dual-channel ABS has been offered as standard fitment. The motorcycle has a fuel tank of 15.7 liters.
