New Delhi. Hero MotoCorp, India’s top two-wheeler manufacturer, has once again increased the prices of its bikes. The company made an announcement that the prices of its two-wheelers will increase by up to Rs 1,000 for each model. Hero attributed the recent hike in prices to higher cost due to inflation. The new prices have already been implemented. This is the 5th price hike within a year and the third time within 6 months.

Hero MotoCorp announced that the price hike will have an impact on the ex-showroom prices of all the motorcycles and scooters currently offered in India. Some of the popular models sold by Hero in India include the Splendor, XPulse range of bikes. Hero MotoCorp motorcycles and scooters prices start from ₹ 55,450 ex-showroom and go up to ₹ 1.36 lakhs ex-showroom.

Inflated prices applicable
Hero MotoCorp said in a notice to the stock exchanges that the company has increased the showroom prices of its motorcycles and scooters with immediate effect. The company said that the price hike was necessary to partially offset the effect of cost inflation. This increase will be up to Rs 1,000. The price hike will vary depending on the models and markets.

Prices have gone up even before
Earlier, Hero had announced a price hike in April and July. Hero had announced a price hike of Rs 2,000 in April, while another price hike of Rs 3,000 was implemented in July. Overall, this is the 5th time that India’s leading two-wheeler maker has increased the prices of its bikes and scooters in the last one year.

Company setting up charging infrastructure
Recently Hero MotoCorp has partnered with state-owned Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited to set up charging stations for electric two-wheelers. Under this initiative, both the companies will first set up the charging infrastructure at the petrol pumps of HPCL. After this, both can expand the scope of alliance for other opportunities in the business.
