Harrier prices range from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 24.07 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a five seater SUV which competes with SUVs like Hyundai’s Creta and Kia Seltos. Over the years, it has seen several updates and new variants like Dark and Camo have been introduced. Earlier this year, Tata Motors launched the Harrier SUV with BS6 Stage II compliant engines. This 2.0L Kyrotec diesel engine produces 168bhp of max power and 350Nm of peak torque. The SUV also gets ADAS features like forward collision warning, rear collision warning, emergency braking, door open alert, lane change alert and high beam assist.
Tata Motors introduced the electric version of the Harrier at this year’s Auto Expo. This electric SUV includes features like dual-motor setup, all-wheel drive and over-the-air updates. Tata Motors’ total production of passenger vehicles has crossed 5 million units. The company crossed the production mark of one million passenger vehicles in 2004. After this, in 2010 it reached 20 lakh units. The company had completed production of 30 lakh units in 2015 and 40 lakh units in 2020.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Passenger Vehicles Unit, Tata Motors, said, “The journey from each million units to the next million units has seen a lot of ups and downs.” The company had told that it has taken less than three years to reach the total production of 4 million units to 5 million units despite the difficulties related to Corona and the shortage of semiconductors. At the end of last year, Tata Motors had achieved the milestone of delivering 50,000 electric cars.
