However, it turned out to be the lowest day collection ever, as the film has been doing consistently well since its release.
The film collected around 8 crores on Wednesday, 17th May and 9.65 crores on Tuesday. On Tuesday, the film crossed the 150 crore mark and with Thursday’s collection, the film has reportedly collected Rs 171.72 crore, out of which Rs 170.13 crore came from Hindi language and Rs 1.59 crore from Telugu.
Thursday may have been a slow day for the film, but now the weekend has arrived. In such a situation, a boom can be seen in the film’s earnings again. However, films like Fast X and IB74 have also released in the country. Overall, it has to be seen whether The Kerala Story manages to cross the 200 crore mark or not.
‘The Kerala Story’ talks about women who converted to Islam and joined the terrorist organization ISIS. Makers claim that more than 32 thousand girls have gone missing in Kerala. Adah Sharma played the lead role in the film. She came into limelight with the film ‘1920’. Apart from Adah, the film also stars Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani. The film is directed by Sudipto Sen. He has also written the story.
All organizations are opposing ‘The Kerala Story’. Kerala’s CPI(M) and Congress say the film falsely claims that thousands of women converted to Islam and joined the ISS. Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind etc had approached the Supreme Court to ban the film, but the court did not give any relief to the petitioners. The film is not being shown in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, whose matter has reached the Supreme Court.
