Like other Vivo phones, the most important feature of this handset is the front camera. This time the company has given dual camera setup for selfie lovers. Let us tell you that before the official launch, we spent some time with this handset. Let us tell you how we liked the Vivo V5 Plus first look.
Vivo V5 Plus Design and Display
As soon as you hold the Vivo V5 Plus in your hands, you will realize that it is inspired by the design of the iPhone 7. However, it isn’t bad. Overall, the build quality of Vivo V5 Plus is good and it gives a premium feel. Due to the thin frame, it is not a problem to use it with one hand. The dimensions of the smartphone are 152.8×74.00×7.26mm and weighing 158.6 grams.
The primary camera of Vivo V5 Plus is on the top left on the rear. Power and volume buttons are present on the right side. Vivo V5 Plus also has a home button fingerprint sensor. During the time we spent with the handset, we found that the sensor responded well and it was accurate too. The speaker grill is present at the bottom. With this you will get Micro-USB port and 3.5mm audio jack.
Vivo V5 Plus flaunts a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. After spending time with the smartphone, we would call its quality satisfactory.
Vivo V5 Plus Camera
The most important feature of Vivo V5 Plus is the dual front cameras. You will get 8 megapixel sensor with 20 megapixels. Sony IMX376 1/2.78 inch sensor has been used in the 20 megapixel camera. Its aperture is F / 2.0. At the same time, the 8-megapixel sensor will capture depth of field information.
With the help of this pair of cameras, users will be able to take selfies with bokeh effect. We got a glimpse of this technology in the iPhone 7 Plus. Users can change the area of focus even after taking a shot. We found the camera setup of Vivo V5 Plus to be very efficient. However, face beautification and HDR mode don’t improve the quality of the photo much.
Vivo V5 Plus has a 16-megapixel camera on the rear. We found the pictures taken with this camera to be fine, nothing unusual about it. The performance of the camera was not that good, especially in low light conditions. However, we have spent a limited amount of time with this handset. In such a situation, the final decision on the performance of the camera will be kept safe for review.
Vivo V5 Plus Software
Vivo V5 Plus smartphone runs on Funtouch OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It has 4 GB RAM with 2 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset. Like the hardware design, you will get a glimpse of the iPhone in the software too. We didn’t have any complaints with the performance during the time we spent with the V5 Plus.
The inbuilt storage of Vivo V5 Plus is 64 GB. The battery is of 3055 mAh and it supports quick charging. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. The speaker of the Vivo V5 Plus does make a loud noise, but we were not satisfied with its quality.
Vivo V5 Plus will be available in India only in Gold color. The handset will compete with the OnePlus 3T and Moto Z Play in this price range. By the way, the Vivo V5 Plus has a weaker processor than the OnePlus 3T. And there is no mods support like the Moto Z Play. In such a situation, it will not be easy for the company to woo customers on the basis of dual front camera only. Well, we suggest you wait for the Vivo V5 Plus review.
