Vivo Y78 or Vivo Y78m spotted on Geekbench, will knock with 12GB RAM and Dimensity 930 processor

Vivo is now planning to bring new smartphones in the Vivo Y78 series, which includes the Vivo Y78 which may launch in China as the Vivo Y78m. Vivo Y78/Y78m was recently spotted on 3C and TENAA certification database. Now this phone has appeared on Geekbench, where its specifications have been revealed. Vivo recently launched the Vivo Y78+ 5G smartphone in China, which featured a 50-megapixel dual camera setup with OIS support and a Snapdragon 695 chipset. Vivo Y78/Y78m with model number Vivo V2278A has been spotted on Geekbench. As per the listing, the phone will be equipped with an octa-core system on chip (SoC) with a maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz. Apart from this, the SoC has 6 cores which work at 2.0GHz. The SoC will also be paired with the PowerVR B-Series BXM-8-256 graphics processing unit (GPU).

The upcoming Vivo Y78/ Y78m is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 930 SoC, which has already been included in smartphones like the Moto G73 5G and Vivo Y77 5G. The SoC by MediaTek is likely to be branded as Dimensity 7020 as the company is renaming its mobile SoC portfolio.

The model spotted on Geekbench has 12GB of RAM, but Vivo may provide other RAM and storage variants in the phone as well. Vivo Y78 / Y78m is expected to be introduced in the market in 6GB / 8GB RAM and 128GB / 256GB storage option. In Geekbench test, the phone scored 842 in single-core and 2099 in multi-core test. The smartphone will run on Android 13 with Funtouch OS 13 or Origin OS 3 depending on the region of launch.
