Buying a new SIM is not a difficult task, but Voda-Idea (Vi) has made it easier. The company has launched the self-KYC process. It is claimed that it is the first telecom company to do so. With the help of the self-KYC process, people will be able to order a new SIM sitting at home. They will not need to visit the retail store nor will they have to get physical KYC done. This service is available for both prepaid and postpaid connections. The beginning has been made from Kolkata and Karnataka. Gradually it will be started all over India.
Report In a statement, the company said that its Self KYC system is in line with the guidelines of the Ministry of Telecom (DoT). With the help of this service, people can take a new connection anytime and get the SIM delivered at their doorstep. As mentioned, this service has just started in Kolkata and Karnataka and has been brought for postpaid customers.
This is how you can get a new sim
- To start Vi’s new connection and self-KYC, users will have to visit the official website of Vi-myvi.in/.
- There you have to click on the New Connection section. After this the given steps have to be followed.
- Users can choose their plan and number. After this the Self KYC processor will start.
- The user will have to get Aadhaar verification done from the official website of UIDAI.
- Along with this, one of your live photos and 10 seconds of live video will also have to be recorded.
- As soon as the KYC process is completed, the SIM will be delivered at home after completing the order.
- When the delivery executive brings the SIM to your home, he will have to verify the ID with the OTP.

As per the information, in Self-KYC any customer can apply for mobile connection from his/her home/office. Users have to get their documents verified online by UIDAI and DigiLocker.
