It will also have a 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine with nearly 600 horsepower, just like the brothers SL 55 and 63.
The GT, however, will prioritize performance over comfort since the SL is a grand tourer.
Whenever the AMG GT Coupe is officially revealed, it will debut at the Nürburgring.
Inline-six derivatives are also being planned as a bridge between GT and SL models.
There should be over 800 horsepower in a plug-in hybrid V8 at the top of the food chain.
As the SL and GT share the same underpinnings, the next generation will go exclusively coupe in 2023.
Porsche's hybrid 911 is already confirmed, but PHEV V8 is likely to join the lineup further down the line.
