The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be displayed at events throughout the United States while the first media drives are awaiting.

At WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Chevrolet brought Corvette Z06s for passengers to ride in.

Among those who experienced the Z06 first-hand is YouTuber Speed Phenom, who described it as an "awesome animal."

Due to its 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8, the Corvette Z06 has captivated enthusiasts due to its power.

It produces 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet (624NM) of torque, and is made even more impressive by running at 8,600 rpm.

A dual clutch transmission with an eight-speed Tremec transmission is paired with the engine.

Z06's driver wasn't pushing it to the extremes, but enjoyed revving it through all gears.

High-revving engines require flat-plane crankshafts, like the ones Ferrari and other European supercar brands use.

It has a completely different soundtrack than any Corvette before it, as well as a Ferrari 458 Italia, for example.

The C8.R is built for racing so it produces a more mechanical sound than the Ferrari.
