James Webb, a NASA telescope, was launched by Northrop Grumman in 2021.

James Webb Telescope

The James Webb superspace telescope zooms in on a dying star in a fascinating new video released today.

It shows how the James Webb telescope captured the stunning image of NGC 3132, the Southern Ring Nebula.

This star is much further away from the Earth than 2,000 light years away.

Canadian Space Agency posted the video on Twitter explaining how the telescope focused.

It is almost face-on in the image to see the Southern Ring Nebula.

There is instead an expanding sphere of gas and dust that is lit up at its center by a dying star.

Webb's Near-Infrared Camera clearly captured the stars and their layers of light.

A new era of discovery is at hand with the launch of NASA's Webb telescope, the most powerful space telescope ever built.
