Head coach Patrick Vieira believes the absence of Palace's first-team players for the Leeds United preseason match in Australia is unfair.

The Whites' Australia pre-season tour concludes with their match against Crystal Palace in Perth.

Several key personnel will not be in the squad for the tour, including nine first-team players.

The squad will be without Wilfried Zaha, Jeffrey Schlupp, Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze, Will Hughes, Christian Benteke, Nathan Ferguson, and Luke Plange.

Managers are not in an ideal position when so many players drop out, Vieira said.

In order to fully understand why players have stayed behind, you need to understand their motivations.

There will be no discussion of the private situation of players or whether or not they are vaccinated.

Due to the fact that some players needed more training and games, they stayed behind.
