Motorola and Nokia both launched their affordable Moto G5 and Nokia 5 handsets in Barcelona. There is one important similarity between the two – the use of the Snapdragon 430 processor. These smartphones come with great specifications and have carved their niche in the affordable segment. And both also give tough competition to each other. Both companies will also give competition to other smartphone makers in this range segment.

Moto G5, Nokia 5 and Redmi 3S Prime Price
Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime was launched in August 2016 for Rs.8,999. Compare to Nokia 5 and Moto G5, these smartphones are yet to reach India. The Moto G5 is priced at Euro 199 (roughly Rs. 14,000) for the 2GB RAM/ 16GB storage variant, while the Nokia 5 is priced at Euro 189 (roughly Rs. 13,500).

The Nokia 5 has a 5.2-inch display, while the other two phones sport 5-inch displays. However, in terms of resolution, the Moto G5 wins with its full-HD resolution. The Redmi 3S Prime comes with 3GB of RAM while the Moto G5 also comes with 3GB of RAM (though this variant costs more). Compared to Nokia 5, this phone has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. The Redmi 3S Prime has 32 GB inbuilt storage and the Moto G5 smartphone will be available in 16 GB and 32 GB storage variants. The storage of all these smartphones can be increased up to 128 GB via microSD card slot.

All three phones have a 13-megapixel rear camera with flash support. On the front, the Redmi 3S Prime and Moto G5 sport a 5-megapixel camera, while the Nokia 5MPS sports an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Redmi 3S Prime has the maximum battery of 4100 mAh. Nokia 5 has 3000 mAh battery and Moto G5 has 2800 mAh battery.

Nokia 5 and Moto G5 run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat and Android 7.0 Nougat respectively. While the Redmi 3S Prime runs on the old Android 6.0.1 based MIUI 7. All three phones have dual-sim support. (Nano-SIM for Nokia and Micro-SIM for Redmi 3S Prime)

All three smartphones come with metal design. The Moto G5 has a removable battery. The Nokia 5 and Moto G5 have a fingerprint scanner integrated into the home button itself, while the Redmi 3S Prime sports a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

All these three smartphones look good on paper. However, the prices of these phones are expected to drop when they reach India. The Redmi 3S Prime offers great specifications at an affordable price. The phones from Nokia and Motorola run on the latest software and due to this they are slightly ahead of the older Redmi 3S Prime.
