Windows 10 Home for Rs 7,999 and Pro for Rs 14,999 for new users

Microsoft’s latest desktop operating system Windows 10 has been made available in 190 countries. Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users will get a free upgrade to Windows 10, but new users will have to pay for it. Microsoft on Thursday announced the cost of both the versions of Windows for new users in India. Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro will be available for Rs 7,999 and Rs 14,999 respectively.

Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro SKUs can be purchased online and from retail stores. It is available on Microsoft’s online store in India. Significantly, Microsoft had announced the US price of the new operating system in June itself. Talking about Home Edition, there is not much difference in the price of India and America. Although the Pro version in India is more expensive than in the US. Windows 10 Home costs $119 (around Rs 7,600) and Windows 10 Pro costs $199 (around Rs 12,700) in the US.

Windows 10 Pro Pack price in India is not available yet. This version is available in the US for $99 (roughly Rs. 6,300). Using this, Windows 10 Home users will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.

This US company has played a big bet with the update release. Through this, the company is trying to remove the complaints of the customers who were disappointed with the shortcomings of Windows 8. Microsoft has given place to the good features of Windows 7 and Windows 8 in the new operating system. There will also be some new features in it. However, Windows 10 also has some drawbacks. It is by no means a perfect operating system right now.

Microsoft claims that Windows 10 is the most secure Windows ever. The company says that this operating system will be delivered as a service and it will be automatically updated. Windows 10 is also being called the last version of Windows. The new Windows Store and Windows Software Development Kit were also made available on Wednesday to allow developers to develop apps for the multi-device operating system.

Speaking at the launch of Windows 10, Bhaskar Pramanik, Chairman, Microsoft India said, “Windows 10 is the best Windows ever. Starting today it will be available for free upgrade in 190 countries. Will also come along with new PCs and tablets. It is more personal and productive. It is more safe and secure. It will also be very easy to use and it will be continuously updated. Around 1500 retail stores in India will help consumers upgrade to Windows 10.
