PTI’s Report according to wipro offered a package of Rs 6.5 lakh per annum to the freshers. The company has asked freshers before joining whether they will accept the offer of Rs 3.5 lakh per annum. NITES has condemned the company’s decision, terming it as ‘unjust’ and ‘against the principles of fairness and transparency’. NITES demands that the management of the company reconsider the decision and engage in dialogue with the union to arrive at a solution that is beneficial to both the parties.
Recently, Wipro told candidates who completed the Velocity training program, “Like others in our industry, we continually assess the global economy and customer needs, which impact our hiring plans. We admire your commitment and patience as we seek to find opportunities.” Along with this, the company had said, “We have Project Engineer positions available for recruitment with a compensation of Rs 3.5 lakh per annum. We would like to offer these positions to the batch that completes the Velocity training program.”
When contacted, Wipro in an email reply said, “As a result of changes in the macro environment, we have had to make adjustments to our recruitment plans as per the needs of our business. This offer is available to candidates looking to start their careers.” offering an immediate opportunity to expand your career, strengthen your expertise and learn new skills.” Strongly condemning this decision of the company, NITES has termed it as ‘unethical’ to reduce the package of candidates waiting for joining from Rs 6.5 lakh per annum to Rs 3.5 lakh per annum.
